Long, long thread, but please bear with me. It's kind of a 'what if' thread about fascism...
Now, historically fascism has appeared and re-appeared under different guises... with very different leaders...

... but it has one thing in common: it arrives as your friend - restoring pride and all that, so the majority don't SEE what the agenda is...
... Fascism, in its broadest sense, has taken many forms in the past. But it's important to go back to its definition and main traits... in other words, it's not a case of 'well, I don't have a concentration camp on my doorstep, so all is well'...
... Now. Fast forward to 2020. The era of the Internet, social media, e-banking, fake news, climate change, capitalism on steroids & globalisation. What if fascism has now re-appeared in a new form? What if instead of being led by a single person (the dictator in a uniform)...
... it had morphed into something else? Such as a small, global mafia-like network of very, very rich people who found they could control the narrative, to their advantage, across many countries... playing chess with the world's democracies? 🤔...
... and they had found a way to play the game to make billions for themselves, by buying politicians in the right places, rigging elections, and if necessary making alliances with unsavoury partners to achieve their objectives?...
... so then, I'm thinking of what has been happening in Britain lately (and the U.S. and a few other places), and I can't help thinking it all makes sense... so here is a little thread I wrote a couple of days ago...

... Now, that thread might be misinterpreted because it is hard to shift the idea of fascism/dictatorship as anything but a regime led by one of these...
... when in fact they probably look like these... they don't need to be seen, they just need to have the right people under their control wherever they need to play the game... and they don't need to start a war...
... all they need is a) the right connections, b) a local figurehead they can manipulate to 'act' as the leader, and c) a trusted 'officer' to make sure the leader does as he's told (through money and/or Kompromat)...
... & then they're in a position to control everything. Objective: well, the oldest reasons in the world: 💰💷 of course. And to make a lot of that, all they need is to push one agenda, & one agenda only: deregulation. Meaning they & their pals can make money... LOTS of money...
... now, as you have probably guessed by now, Brexit was a necessary step in achieving that deregulation... and guess what, deregulation is not something you or I are going to benefit from 😕...
... so, back to my original tweet, and yes, I am very, very worried about Britain....
... and it's very clear in my mind why Vote Leave, Johnson & his cabinet seem sooo keen for us to leave a club we've been part of for decades, & that very, very few of us had any issues with - until those people suddenly began telling us we HAVE to leave 'to take back control'...
