1/5 Interesting #dust blob off Florida coast. Where will the #SaharanDust that crossed the US go next? Will it make it to Europe? On 27 June #dust extends from Cuba to North Carolina, still up to nearly 5km altitude.

2/5 28 June, #SaharanDust spreads westwards over Atlantic, upper boundary still 4-5km on leading edge

3/5 29 June, #dust patchy over Atlantic but still present. (No #calipso images in yet). OMPS AI left, MODIS Terra AOD right.

4/5 #CAMS & #GEOS 12h dust forecasts from 29th valid 12z 29 June - quite different dust amounts off E coast USA with more in GEOS, and probably looking closer to observations.

5/5 CAMS & GEOS #dust forecasts for 12Z 2 Jul - GEOS has dust streaking out across the high latitudes, eventually reaching UK by ~5 Jul, while CAMS shows little return-Atlantic transport. Will be interesting to follow.
