Being an “entrepreneur”: a thread.

First up, that term has become so overused by internet “gurus” that it’s desensitising. In fact, in my experience 90% of people who call themselves entrepreneurs are more worried about the tag than doing the work. The remaining 10% just do it.
They aren’t worried about the title, they’re worried about creating, talking to and learning from people and being curious enough, tenacious enough and gracious enough to keep growing.

Most are simply doing what they love but don’t mistake that for not working hard.
It’s a risk, always. You’re the first in, the last out; you’re the one pulling long haul flights and the one who is accountable.

But no one is ever as hard on you as you are on yourself. That’s ok. It’s why your 75% outperforms everyone else’s 130%: you’re wired to push.
And the ideas never stop. Ever.

You just learn which to fight for today and which to fight for another day.

But that engine, that brain, is what keeps you up at night. Personally I wake up between 2am and 3am every day for at least an hour because my brain doesn’t stop.
If you’re like that, too, people around may not get it. They’ll tell you to wind down, or to relax - but they don’t see that it’s not a negative, rather it’s the driving force that keeps you interested.

You’d go crazy without the fight.

So, you fight and you feel great.
But you can’t fight alone. You need people in your corner & you need people willing to get in the ring with you. I have @KieranMcKeef; he doesn’t stop, either. Because there’s no fun in that. Don’t worry about being an entrepreneur, rather, figure out what you’re fighting for.
Stop selling other people’s stuff. If you want to do that, fine - but you’re not entrepreneurial, you’re a marketer - there’s nothing wrong with that, but own it.

Entrepreneurs:they aren’t the gurus, they’re the ones in the trenches figuring it out, creating things every day.
