It’s an unpopular opinion but my mantra is that:
" Love what you’re doing and it will succeed "
" Solve your own problem "
@CopyPalette solved a fundamental problem that I was facing daily. Many apps used to help you create a palette but there were overwhelming or confusing. I solved the problem with simplicity in mind and a great UX.
Boom! People loved it!
" Document & share your resources "
@DesignValley4 started as a personal public @github repo to help me remember useful tools. When it gained popularity, I built a web app to make the tool discovery process easier.
The @ProductHunt launch attracted 7473 users in a day.
" Keep up with the trends "
I launched Wireframer.art on @ProductHunt and it ended in the No1 position. People loved it but the retention rate was decreasing. I had to take action and integrate it into the daily workflow of my users.
It took me a Sunday morning to build the plugin and launch it. The result was 4.2k installs and 54 likes!
" Admit your fails "
Design and code are my specialties. For a long time, I believed marketing was just boring
Launching your own product teach you that marketing has the same importance (if not more) as building it
Spreading the word about your product is your No1 goal!
" Focus on Monetization "
Adding a paywall is not the only option here. Affiliate links, sponsorships, locking features and many more options exist.
Keep in mind that building a great product and the hype around it can attract possible buyers/partners too.
" Share your progress "
People love to learn your milestones and your progress. More and more startups/founders become open and share their metrics with everyone.
They inspire and encourage other makers to keep trying.
" Network "
The making process is not an alone journey. Always be open and communicate with like-minded people. You always have sth to learn from exceptional people in your field.
" Use the tools that fit you "
No-code tools bring a remarkable revolution. No coders can prototype ideas in a few hours.
However, they don’t fit all of us. I still use coding when it comes to starting a new idea. It feels natural for me and it’s quicker.
" Prioritize your projects "
Last few months, I had to pause my side project due to my university studies. It was an exhausting period but I'm thrilled that it's done.
I decided to pause my side projects because I couldn't focus 100% on them and I hated that!
I have to make a big announcement for the new week too...
