When is VAR used?

Only used for "clear and obvious errors" or "serious missed incidents" in four match-changing situations:

- Goals
- Penalties
- Direct red-card
- Mistaken identity

VAR automatically checks these situations. The final decision, however, is with the referee.

- VAR checks every goal scored for:

1. Offside
2. Foul
