“The country has gone through a profound shock. But in those moments, you have the opportunity to change and to do things better.”

Mr. Prime Minister,
your recent statement in Yediot Ahronot, founded in Mandatory Palestine, only continues British Mandate policy. Sadly, it represents no change, but only failure to “do things better.”

Mr. Prime Minister, please accept the historic opportunity the US offers to end a long-running
conflict justly for all parties-to-the conflict;affirm International Law; reduce the influence of the Islamic Republic, which has been cynically exacerbating the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for 40 years; support a major reform effort in the Islamic world; position the IC to wrap
up other IR supported conflicts in the Middle East; help end anti-Semitism, the world’s oldest prejudice, in the UK; and strenghthen the Special Relationship.

Mr. Prime Minister, suggesting that the best path to ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is to wait for more
negotiations is a holding measure to run out the clock on the Trump Adm; no one believes the Palestinians will reverse their charters calling for violent jihad & armed conflict until the Jewish State is annihilated. All understand that Palestinians’ commitment is based on an
an interpretation of Islam, shared by Iran, that rejects Jewish sovereignty over any territory once dominated by Islam, especially if that territory contains an Islamic holy site.

What you are ignoring is Saudi, Egyptian, & UAE efforts to reform Islam & challenge that
interpretation, represented in last May’s Charter of Maqaa, among other Saudi reforms. MbS also played a major role in writing the Trump peace plan, in efforts to persuade Palestinian leadership to make peace w/ Israel, in accepting large numbers of Palestinian immigrants. The
current UK position on Israel’s impending implementation of sovereignty in Judea & Samaria hurts the Sunni world’s welcome efforts.

It also flouts International Law. You have been advised that, according to Article 80 of the UN Charter, Israel retains the exclusive right,
granted in the 1920 San Remo Resolution, the 1922 League of Nations/British Mandate, the 1923 Lausanne Agreement to “close settlement” & sovereignty over Judea & Samaria. You have been advised that no less an authority in international law than the Hague Cooperative & highly
regarded legal scholars, including Jacques Gauthier, confirm that this supercedes all other law. You have been advised that the Geneva Conventions violation argument is specious bc Jordan controlled the West Bank, against International Law, & that, since the 1967 War was
forced on Israel by hostile Arab states, territory Israel won belongs to Israel by International Law.

For the UK PM to insist that Israel applying sovereignty to territory that is legally Israel’s is illegal is to continue the British colonial strategy of making-policy that
divides native peoples in order to maintain British influence. This is the policy British officials willfully employed in the post 1922 period, countermanding International Law.

This British policy of denying the developing Jewish state the right to legally buy property & to
place strict limits on Jewish immigrantion in the Mandate period can only be viewed as driven by ancient UK anti-Semitism still infesting the Labour Party today.

British voters rejected institutionaluzed anti-Semitism & prejudice. The UK adopted the IHRA definition of
anti-Semitism, including prejudice against the Jewish State. The Trump plan addresses institutionalized anti-Semitism in the Palestinian community, and FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ANY DIPLOMACY to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, requires purging it from all social organs FIRST,
as Lord Mann recommended purging it from Labour before Labour can be considered a rehabilitated UK political party.

In addition, large numbers of Palestinians in the disputed territories are tired of their leaders’ graft, taking aid $ for personal use & for unnecessarily
prolonging war. The Palestinians are well able to rule themselves, as have the 1.8 mm Israeli Arabs.

Mr. Prime Minister, please strenghthen the Special Relationship by joining the US in supporting Israel’s implementation of 100 year old, still operative, International Law.
It brings other benefits. Long- running conflicts in the Middle Rast can be wrapped up. Iran’s making influence can be curbed. The IC can use its resources to recover from the Covid virus & its global, economic fallout, & work together to roll back climate change.
