RDB’s Chief Tourism Officer, @BeliseKariza said, “Since it’s initiation in 2018, RDB, @RwandaMoD and RDF have been working on the Liberation trail as a new heritage tourism product to serve the growing demand of history and cultural products.”

“The Liberation History Tourism Trail will also increase awareness of the liberation struggle and preserve RPA heritage sites, promote domestic tourism, educate future generations and increase tourism traffic and revenue.”

“As part of the trail, 44 sites in 6 districts around the country were identified by @RwandaMoD to form what is the liberation tourism trail as displayed on this video.”

Eight of the sites were identified as tourist attractions for further development. They include; Kagitumba, Shonga, Mulindi, Mukarange, Musanze (Nyamagumba), Urugano, CND and Gikoba.

In addition, RDB launched a digital application trail with the purpose of providing users with readily available content about the historical significance of the liberation trail and much more.
