Crossing GosHighSt will be easier & safer as the distance to cross will be much less. Hopefully this will solve current issue of some drivers going through crossings on red when large vehicles obscure the lights. spaceforgosforth.com/enabling-busin…
Changes will reduce people’s exposure to air pollution as they will be further away from vehicle exhausts. Restrictions may also reduce traffic & pollution levels
Should reduce dangerous over-taking & undertaking manoeuvres. spaceforgosforth.com/enabling-busin…
Safer protected cycle lane will stop the encroachment of cars in the Regent Centre lane & enable more people to cycle north & to the city centre (but not to #GosHiSt itself) spaceforgosforth.com/enabling-busin…
Plans do not enable safe cycling to/across GosHiSt. - families & less confident cyclists (i.e. most people) still have difficulty access local shops & services (including schools) by bike. We would like this to be addressed in a future iterations
We’re not convinced a 1-way system is necessary as in most locations pavements can be wider by 4m. We favour trialling the scheme without 1-way system & introducing it if necessary.
