'NDIGBO & THEIR VICTIM MENTALITY': TIME TO PROPERLY GUIDE @MoghaluKingsley

48hours after our own Prof. @MoghaluKingsley, a highly cerebral & industrious son of Ala Igbo, tied the 5 decades of marginalization of Ndigbo in Nigeria, to 'victim mentality,' he is yet to recount?

2/ I've waited so patiently to see Prof. @MoghaluKingsley's reaction, the last 48 hours, but zilch. Against this backdrop, I write to properly guide him that there is nothing like 'victim mentality' among Ndigbo, when the issues of post-civil war are critically examined.

3/ Dear @MoghaluKingsley, where is the 'victim mentality' for a people whose lands were left a desolate place after a 30-month fratricidal civil war, but made a very strong recovery, barely 7 years after, as captured succinctly by @nytimes in its February 21, 1977 publication?

4/ Dear @MoghaluKingsley, where is the 'victim mentality' for a people who were left with a paltry £20, no matter how much they had in their bank accounts before the 1967-1970 civil war, but overcame that economic strangulation, and today, Nigeria's richest ethnic nationality?

5/ Dear @MoghaluKingsley, Nigeria is built on a three-legged tripod. Where is the 'victim mentality' for a people whose son nor daughter have neither emerged Head of @NigeriaGov since the brutal assassination of one of their own, Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi, 54 years ago (July 29, 1966)?

6/ Dear @MoghaluKingsley, in all honesty as a cerebral academic, do you think there would still be an entity called Nigeria, today, if any of the two other legs making the tripod- Nigeria, were in the shoes of Ndigbo, even 50 years, after a war declared: No Victor, No Vanquished?

7/ Dear @MoghaluKingsley, where is the 'victim mentality' among Ndigbo, who've continued to invest hugely in the infrastructural growth & development of Nigeria, irrespective of where they reside across the 6 geo-political zones, in the spirit of “Ebe onye bi, ka ọ na-awachi?"

8/ From the foregoing, it is instructive to note that while Ndigbo continue to show their progressive nature towards the growth & development of Nigeria, other ethnic nationalities in Nigeria, continue to devise means to deny Ndigbo a shot as Head of @NigeriaGov, since 1966.

9/ 2023: An Igbo Presidency Is Possible

Since the assassination of Aguiyi Ironsi, on July 29, 1966, till date, Ndigbo have continuously thrown their weights behind other ethnic nationalities whose sons have emerged Heads of @NigeriaGov. So, 'victim mentality' ain't the issue.

10/ If other ethnic nationalities (regions) are honest and progressives as Ndigbo, let us go back to the memoranda of Mkpoko Igbo; Councils of Obas of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun & Ondo States of Nigeria,' et al, during Abacha's Constitutional Conference inaugurated June 27, 1994.

11/ At that conference chaired by late Justice Adolphus Karibi-Whyte, Mkpoko Igbo, et al, proposed that for Equity, office of @NGRPresident should be rotated among the Six Geo-Political Zones:

- South West
- South East
- South South
- North West
- North East
- North Central.

12/ The Northern Hegemony shot down that honest & equitable proposition, forcing the adoption of a North/South Rotational Presidency. 25years after that conference, and 21 years after the return of civil rule in Nigeria, Rotation of Presidency remains a controversial subject.

13/ WAY FORWARD FOR 2023?

Since 1999, @NGRPresident has rotated as follows:

SW- 8years
NW- 10years (May 29, 2023)
SS- 5years
SE- Nil
NE- Nil
NC- Nil

An equitable zoning formular by parties:

- President (SE)
- VP (NC)
- SP (NE)
- DSP (SS)
- Speaker (SW)
- Dep Speaker (NW)

14/ END- Tied to above zoning formular by @OfficialAPCNg, @OfficialPDPNig, et al, the below RESTRUCTURING ELEMENTS can set Nigeria aright:

- True Census
- Single National Database
- Electoral Reforms
- Decentralise @PoliceNG
- Cut Governance Cost
- Fight Graft
- Fix Power, etc.
