Some basic gyan: Patrol Points (in the context of LAC) are points up to which troops patrol to show flag. There is no permanent post at those points. PPs are also at lower heights, not on peaks. The most famous one in current context, PP-14 is in middle of the Galwan river bed!
The snow-fed Galwan river is in high spate currently because summer heat is melting the snow faster; India and China have decided to halt patrolling at Galwan (India up to PP-14, China up to its perception line, some 1.5 km away from PP-14, short of the buffer zone) for a month
Disengagement at PP-15 and PP-17A is underway. Continuous monitoring and communication between two sides on hotline is on. The process is: Take a step towards disengagement, monitor it, verify it and then take the next step. Repeat.
