1) The military element in the junta is afraid, like they were in 2017, that if Zanu-PF continues in its current form, there is a likelihood of a national implosion & if that isn't managed, the pple will take control & outst Zanu-PF, that is their greatest fear.
2)The July 31 demo is what @Jamwanda2 called "atmospherics", in 2017, to manage internal Zanu-PF contradictions 4 the purposes of building a stronger Zanu-PF for 2023. I have it on good grounds that ED is being pressured to step down to save Zanu-PF & the military is behind that
3)ED was told by the command element that they r worried abt the state of the economy & Zanu-PF chances in the 2023 elections hence the desperate means to change guard at Shake Shake building.Masoja arikutya a post-2023 non-Zanu-PF govt. We have to be careful not to be used again
4)The msg from the military to ED was that a repeat of 2008, where brute force was used to force an electoral outcome, was difficult in the era of social media hence the need for him to step down, coopt some opposition players & give Zanu-PF some breathing space. Anenzeve anzwa!
