Three weeks ago, a biracial woman named Althea Bernstein claimed white men doused her in lighter fluid and threw a lighter into her car. Since then, @MadisonPolice have said nothing about the investigation. Why not? Why has there been no urgency in such a heinous hate crime?
Why have there been no sketches of the suspects released to the public? Why have the suspects' descriptions not been plastered all over local news? Why have the @MadisonPolice, @CityofMadison, and @MadisonMayor all just sort of stopped talking about this?
At an unprecedented moment in our nation's history in which it cries out for racial justice, why has an entire city done its best to ignore such a serious, obviously racially motivated crime? Shouldn't arresting the suspects be @MadisonPolice's top priority? Why hasn't it been?
If there is a group of racists who badly burned an innocent woman on the loose somewhere, then @MadisonPolice, @CityOfMadison, and @MadisonMayor have a day to protect their citizens and find them. Why have they all stopped looking?
Unless, of course, there is no one to look for; that there isn't a group of racists still on the loose and the @MadisonPolice, @CityofMadison, and @MadisonMayor all know it. If so, then they owe it to their constituents to make an arrest on charges of filing a false police report
