On July 10, 1999, five students of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State were brutally murdered by cultists who evaded their hostel to carry out the dastardly act.
George Akinyemi Iwilade, fondly called Afrika, 21-year old 400L Law, who was then the SUG Gen. Sec. Eviano Ekeimu, 400L Medicine, Yemi Ajiteru, a graduating student, Babatunde Oke, 100L Philosophy, and Godfrey Ekpede, were killed in Blocks 5 and 8 of Awo Hall. #OAU5
The then OAU Vice-Chancellor and all the suspects that were identified and arrested in connection with the crime are still working FREE. Not only did they deny Afrika and his comrades a chance to pursue their dreams, but they also robbed Nigeria of 5 of her gifted youths. #OAU5
That justice has not been served 21 years after is a testimony that the rot in our criminal administration and judicial systems did not just start today - it has been in existence for a long time. #OAU5
The #OAU5 did not die in vain. Many of us that grew up to learn about how cultism was rampant in OAU those years have experienced or had friends and family members who had a better experience on the OAU campus.
That is a testimony that the agitations and the death of the #OAU5 were not in vain. I just wish they were alive to see the results of their effort.
It is just unfortunate that the "professional students" leading NANS now are just there to fill their bellies. They have colluded with our leaders to squander the gains of the agitations and the supreme price the #OAU5 paid.
While we remember these comrades 21 years after, we pray that God Almighty continue to stand with their families and everyone who have lost a loved one fighting for a better education system in Nigeria. #OAU5
Dear @JaafarSJaafar,
I read through your post and I'd like to shed more light on a couple of things you seem not to understand. I would've normally ignored the post but I saw that it has several comments (in support) and over 200 retweets already. 1/
Before you (unintentionally) mislead the public, let's help you understand some point you are missing out. 1. Your "sampling" method is WRONG. Ordinarily, if you put out a tweet asking people if they have experienced symptoms close to that of Covid-19 since the pandemic...

started, thousands will answer in affirmative. Most of them aren't lying. This is because a couple of other illnesses have symptoms quite similar to that of Covid-19. I showed symptoms similar to that about two months ago, I eventually got treated for malaria!
