In Genesis 41:38-44, from the story of Pharaoh and Joseph, we understand that a man cannot lift you above himself, in fact Pharaoh lifted Joseph but still made his own throne higher than that of Joseph.
In Isaiah 66:1, we see how tall God is; He is so tall that His legs are long enough to stretch from Heaven down to the earth.
God Himself said “Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool”
When a man is the one lifting you, his arm will feel heavy and he will bring you down; but the hands of my Father are everlasting, when He lifts you up, He can lift you everlastingly.

Peter also had a peculiar encounter. He was a hardworking businessman but people regarded him as a total failure as seen in Luke 5:1-11.
By the time God lifted him in Acts 5:12-16, Peter was moved from the level of a man of ridicule to the level of a respected celebrity such that whenever he is coming to town, the whole town lines up to welcome him because even his shadow could heal the sick.

When God picks up the destitute, he can bring him to the level of comfortable and when he picks up the comfortable he can bring him to the level of rich
