Absolutely agree sir.

Except that the Congress has never been a genuinely "liberal" party, and it has never been centrist. It has been ideologically opportunistic, being whatever is needed to win at whatever point of time.

And "professionals"--Gandhi family?
An agenda for Congress.

1. Drop the Gandhi/Vadra family. Immediately.
2. Work with the people. Did one leader of the Congress do a fraction of what Sonu Sood did? You had an opportunity, and you blew it, spending the time fighting Gehlot and Pilot.
3. Decide on principles and stick to it. Don't vacillate between pandering to different, diametrically opposite identity groups. Walk the talk, that the party works on a core set of principles.
4. Reward performance. Once you do number 1, allow performers like Pilot a fast track up. A good political party aligns its performance with the ambitions of its members. In Congress, unless you are a Gandhi, ambition is bad.
5. If you want to be a party of professionals, treat professionals better. The way Dr. Manmohan Singh is treated in front of the Gandhis may not bother Dr. Singh, because he maybe above of all of this, but it sends a chilling message to other professionals who may want to join.
6. Have inner-party democracy. Allow people to disagree publicly on certain non-core issues, don't force them out of the party on minor disagreements. Again once you do number 1, these problems will possibly go away.
7. Let's take the example of @JhaSanjay. Over the years, he has been a loyal soldier of the party, an effective spokesperson, and he is a professional. The moment he wrote something mildly critical, he was dumped. Professionals won't support you if this is what you do.
8. When you do this, not only do you shoo away professionals, you attract the wrong kinds of people, the kinds who are perfectly okay with personal humiliation and obsequiousness, as long as they can get the spoils of power. Your voters are smart enough to recognize these people
9. Finally, Congress, what do you really stand for? For the last twenty years or so, it's only mission has been to "give power to the family of Nehru." Voters aren't going to vote on that. With Congress, no one knows what they are buying, except a leader good only for memes.
10. The secret to why BJP keeps going from strength to strength is that Modi has an emotional connect to people. People are his fans, in the way they are of moviestars. And people vote on emotion.
11. The Congress culture under Gandhis has been to kill the careers of anyone in the party with whom people share a bond with, unless that person is a Gandhi. They started with Subhash Bose, and that culture has persisted. No one is going to get passionate over Ashok Gehlot.
12. And the Gandhis want that way, a party of people with no individual mass following. Anyone with even a bit of a personal following, like Jagan Reddy or Pilot, find themselves out. And you then wonder why you can't win elections, and blame the EVMs.
