1. Facebook is lying about its fact-checking program and its approach to climate disinformation.

This gets a bit into the weeds but its worth it because Facebook is trying to use the complexity to obscure its actions, which are indefensible.

Let's review.
2. First some background. Last month, @emorwee and I wrote an article about how Facebook overruled a fact-check by one of Facebook's independent fact-checkers, Science Feedback.

The politicization of school openings by Trump and Pence is completely unnecessary. I don't know anyone who doesn't want schools to open. People just want to make sure its safe. This doesn't need to be a divisive issue.
We need scientists to give their best recommendations on how to keep kids safe. Kids need to go to school and socialize with other kids. But they also don't need to be exposed to unnecessary risk. We can find balance.
Like the premature reopening of various aspects of the economy, opening schools without proper precautions will backfire. If an outbreak occurs, schools will need to shutter completely. We need to figure out a way to open schools and KEEP THEM OPEN
