Life isn’t about marks but to learn from marks you got.

While I had just finished representing India in an international painting competition, I had got 38 in Maths Pre-Board class X. Everyone began to taunt my parents.

I worked hard & ended up making that 38 to 100 in Maths.
I also ensured that my parents aren’t required to pay for Tutions, considering the humble background I came from.

The 2 months of hard work for maths had now made it my fav subject.
Once a hater of maths, takes up PCM at school for +2. All goes well, but I meet an accident while cycling down to examination Center during boards of XII. Somehow I managed to write for 35 marks & just managed passing marks of 33.
I was determined to get in IIT. Qualified in screening but flunk in Mains (again through self studies). Get 28394 rank in AIEEE (BE/B.Tech), 5642 rank in B.Arch

I decide to drop for a year & keep aspiring for IIT.
I fail to qualify in IIT again next year ( I’ll not talk about reservation and other crap now). But secure 7892 AIR in AIEEE (BE/B.Tech)& 2581 AIR in B.Arch

Again, all was happening through self studies.

I get admitted to Piloo Mody College of Architecture.
I chose Architecture over engineering because of my love for fine arts+Maths+Physics. When I entered Architecture school, reality check came to me.

There was talk about art, but rarely science (my other love).
College politics bring the phase of distress in my life. In 4th year I decide not to finish architecture education at all. But there came Krishna of my life: Prof Sanjadhi Chatterjee.

He motivates me back & asks me to work on subject in B.Arch thesis that I love.
I chose topic :Role of Applied Geometry in Deriving Architectural forms. This was a subject that neither any mathematician nor any architect had touched before.

I was ridiculed by professors for unconventional thesis topic. I was given lowest internal marks.
But my thesis went on to be recognised among top 20 thesis of world.

I saw my life as motivation and wrote book: Restart ( My first book, a fiction).
So while travelling from being a Mathsphobic & fine art lover , I end up my College becoming an artist with mathematical bent of mind & a critical author.

I only saw failures as opportunities.

The story is simple & plain but it’s inspiration for me.
