also how u present should not determine what "default" pronouns ppl use. as i start looking more dudely on T, that doesn't mean it's ok to call me he/him. i'm nonbinary and my particular pronouns are they/them. thank u!

(also neopronouns r valid, they/them is not "default n-b")
(ALSO nonbinary people can use binary pronouns! if someone tells you that they are nonbinary, THAT IS VALID regardless of their pronoun choice! Respect peoples' identity regardless of what you personally think of them! it's not about you!)

Hi y’all, I want to talk a little bit about what I’ve been dealing with for the past 10 days or so, because it’s been nauseating and stressful. Quick thread.
About 10 days ago the convention I work for received an email with a set of faked screenshots, along with a strongly worded call for my removal from the Board of Directors. In them, the person claiming to be me talks in twitter DMs about harassing @/thepineapplefox to the point-
-of death for being transphobic.

The screenshots were poorly made, do not read like I wrote them, and are heavily modified from DMs I had with twitter user @/thesigj, which I believe is the burner account of whoever made these screenshots. (aside: please report that account.)

Let's talk about how we see all of these in play in the furry fandom.

1. Ostracizers are evil. Ever notice how those with social power are always quick to be dismissive anytime anyone is called out for bad behavior? Reducing legitimate concerns to "drama" is exactly this fallacy

I'm thinking of selling my old snow leopard character/fursuit!

She comes with a LOT of art (including some nsfw) and the fursuit body hasn't been worn v much at all.

All the parts are made by different folks, lol <3 She comes with indoor and outdoor footpaws, although the outdoor ones need a couple claws replaced ImageImageImage
also lmfao i lost weight AND got top surgery between the first pic and the second two, which is a big part of why i want to yeet this character - she reminds me a bit too much of Life Before Being Out As Trans(tm) and I want someone else to love her! <3

i think it might behoove us all to have even the TINIEST amount of patience with a moderation team that has seen something like 1000% unexpected growth in the last three days
i too wish they would ban the one-member conservative furry club but i also understand that that isn't really a priority when compared to what's going on in the feedback forums right now
I also also would like to see them bring on more admins/mods but again: 1000% UNEXPECTED GROWTH IN LIKE THREE DAYS

a while ago @drawnbydemi taught me how to look at animals in a way that breaks down The Shapes(tm) and it's really fun to just....grab a bunch of pics of one animal and go to town trying to break things down better
