@JoeDinAV @MJThompsonNC @AVPhenom Because AV is such a small drop in the the bucket in a new construction. A $1M AV project (which is fairly large for a system) is probably in a construction of $300million. Or maybe its not. 2/ #AVTweeps
@JoeDinAV @MJThompsonNC @AVPhenom Its like going into a custom car shop and asking what can you do you for my car? The answer almost always is "How much money do you have?" The reason why sq. ft costing works for construction / architects is because they defined minimums. 3/ #AVTweeps
@JoeDinAV @MJThompsonNC @AVPhenom If the project is for a 10Storey building they cannot go below a certain minimum because of construction codes. Same apply for HVAC - Electrical - Plumbing - Fire Safety. Technology however is completely different. 4/ #AVTweeps
@JoeDinAV @MJThompsonNC @AVPhenom If you (representing the AV provider Im assuming) are posed with a green field and are expected to say how much - then go ahead and say 500 million or 50 million or 500k - Doesnt matter because Technology costing is entirely dependent on function of the building. 5/ #AVTweeps
@JoeDinAV @MJThompsonNC @AVPhenom No one here said costing is impossible, everyone said sq. foot costing is not how AV is done (on our side) so yes we dont floor plans to estimate. If you know what the tower is intended for by all means start making assumptions and cost away. 6/ #AVTweeps
