NYPD said violence against protesters was ‘isolated.’

We found over 60 videos of cops punching, batoning, knocking down, body-slamming and otherwise attacking protesters.

Warning: violent video thread ahead.
One thing that struck us in was how many of the most violent scenes we viewed featured white-shirted commanders, like this guy. [Video: @crankberries]
Another was how often the police inflicted violence on people they seemed to have no interest in even arresting, like this guy … [Video: @DavidASiffert]
… and this one (you can see cops stepping over the protester, who appears possibly unconscious) ...
... and this one [Video: @ZachReports]
One officer attacked 3 people in under 30 seconds, culminating in a full-on body slam. [Video:@altochulo ]
This gentleman appears in 2 videos, one where he shoves and grabs his way through a crowd of peaceful protesters... [Video: @BrooklynSpoke]
… and this one where he sneaks up on a guy his colleagues have already collared, grabs him around the neck and slams him down. [Video: @justawren]
His shirt says he works for NYPD’s Office of the Chief of Department, but we're still trying to identify him — we’d like to talk to him.
Read the whole story, with 64 accompanying videos, by @atmccann, @BlackiLi, me, @larrybuch, Aaron Byrd and @troy_closson, under the guiding hand of @simonelandon. Thank you so much to all who bore witness and shared videos with us.nytimes.com/interactive/20…
