THREAD: the Senedd discussion about the constitutional future of Wales, was should it be the people of Wales that decide matters or London.
It isn't a matter of being extreme, of being impractical, it's about the basic and fundamental question of who should decide the future of Wales - the people of Wales or another Government in another place
Ironically those that argue most against giving faith in the people of Wales are the very ones that do their utmost to justify the status quo, the very status quo which has failed our people for so much time.
Is it just that we are amongst the poorest region in Europe yet part of the 6th wealthiest state in the world? Is it right that the few powers we have devolved don't give us even the same powers as Northern Ireland who have control over policing for instance.
Or that we have so few economic levers of power - when the HS2 project for instance will cost us £5bn due to lack of Barnett consequential. Or that substantially more public money per head is spent in London than Wales, or that we have few borrowing powers to invest in Wales.
If other small countries can have power and control over their assets and resources then why not Wales? Are you happy with Wales being treated second rate; with Wales only receiving 3p a tonne for Water despite giving 380,000 liters a day to Severn Trent alone.
Some estimates state we could get £6bn a year in income to Wales? Are you happy that we are the 5th largest energy exporter in the world yet see little income from that. Compare that to the wealth funds of many energy producing countries.
It's not about being extreme, it's about social justice, parity of power, equality, not of some hard nationalism as portrayed by the unionists but of internationalism, being able to work with others on a equal footing. It isn't about building walls, it's about building bridges.
We have a choice, we can either continue to support the status quo, let the establishment do as they wish, take our assets and resources, throw some crumbs towards us or we can do something different,
We can have a positive vision, we can have faith that things can be better, We can say we want justice and parity of power - we want to be treated as equals,
If that is the case then join us TODAY @Plaid_Cymru and ensure parity for Wales, be part of our internationalist outward looking movement thus ensuring Wales is part of the family of small nations throughout the world.
It's about justice and fairness - because you can be assured the Westminster Government will NEVER prioritise Wales and our communities join us @Plaid_Cymru #Senedd2021
