I've decided I'm going to regularly tweet about the resource disparities I am noticing between South and North Minneapolis as I move. Mainly because I don't think the white, wealthy, politically connected part of the city realizes what they have access to that North doesn't ...
I mean, I sure didn't.

Right now, I'm not talking about schools and public safety. Disparities that you, white South Minneapolitans, have probably heard about. I'm talking smaller conveniences, the lack of which make life more frustrating and complicated ...
You know that handy mobile Walgreens pharmacy you've probably got in the parking lot of your otherwise closed location? North never got one. Folks up here are still having to go find a pharmacy in another part of town. With less transportation access @WalgreensNews @WAGSocialCare
Here's another one ... and one that affects educational access if the city decides to go to all online school. There are fewer internet providers available to choose from. There's less access (maybe none, I'm still trying to figure that out) to high speed fiber.
Even weird little things like, oh, the @USPS doesn't do mail preview for my new location?
I'm not sure it actually matters to anyone whether they can get an email with a photo of what's coming in the mail before it arrives. But the fact that one part of town has it and one doesn't tells you something about investment and resource distribution.
And, look, this doesn't matter a ton to me. I'm in a position where an inconvenience in my life is like, eh, an inconvenience. But that's a privilege I have. If I was chronically ill and didn't have a reliable car, that lack of a mobile pharmacy would mean a lot more.
Oh, you know how Lake and Hiawatha @cubfoods has a little tent-based community grocery set up in the parking lot now? They didn't do that in North Minneapolis. They do have a bus to take people to Crystal, but that's a difference in convenience level. Why do you think it's there?
Again, not a huge deal to me. Kind of a big deal to anyone who doesn't have a car, works during the hours the bus is running, has compromised health that makes getting on a bus a couple times a month risky, can't afford to spend part of their food budget on delivery charge, etc.
