Cops are a somewhat forbidding presence here at East Precinct. LRAD already warning anyone entering property will be subject to arrest, use of force, munitions. They're asking "peaceful protesters" to leave the area.
Abt 200 here, no one is leaving

Vibe is a little different here downtown and crowd is in retreat but not backing down after being sprayed like hell by gas of some kind, flash bangs and what seemed like rubber bullets, which were also sprayed. Corner of newly erected fence is now coming down
Corner of Taylor/4th looks bloody & there's a relative calm now but screams of "Medic! Medic!" could be heard everywhere and Portland seems briefly unrecognizable to me
Just spoke with a tv journalist, we both agree this is next level here tonight. People are collecting themselves now, milling about. More fence coming down rn (photo from a bit ago)
I asked him what was going on in his head as he stood there in that moment.👇
