Uncapped Frenchmen: An Insight Into the Nations Breadth of Talent
{A Thread}
From the youth sides to the first team - France are brimming with a ridiculous amount of talent. So much so that some haven’t yet been given a chance with the senior side.

We’ve identified some uncapped French players whose performances are deserving of an eventual call-up.
Once a PSG academy graduate, Mike Maignan has done nothing but impress for Les Dogues season after season. He concedes less than a goal p/90, displaying how crucial he was to Lille qualifying for the CL last year.

He may already be better than Aréola, and a French cap is coming.
Many consider Laporte to be the best left-sided center-back in the world. Deschamps has cited the Basque player's ego as the reason for never picking him.

That being said, if Laporte continues to outperform his fellow countrymen, Deschamps will have no choice but to include him.
When it comes to aerial and physical presence, players don't always fit the bill like Ibrahima Konaté does.

Having suffered a serious injury this year, the RB Leipzig man will be desperate to impress to get a chance to earn his first cap soon.
Saliba grew up playing in the same team as Mbappé, and has showed himself to be one for the future. Already a leader for ASSE at 19, he'll look to make his mark further for Arsenal in the Premier League.

His first cap may not come immediately, but this boy's got the lot.
Upamecano may be the next big French name at the back as it seems he is bound for a top club this summer. The CB has put in rock-solid performances all season.

We'll be watching him in the CL QF, and we're sure Deschamps will be as well.
Younger brother of World Cup-winner Lucas, Theo Hernandez has been a menace at LWB for Milan this season.

If Deschamps is looking for a pacey attacking full-back, he won't have to look much further than the 22 year-old.
Camavinga already has all the big clubs after him, and rightfully so. The youngster impressed early on with his performance against PSG, and his momentum hasn't dropped since. He's a big reason Rennes finished in a Champions League position.

He'll get his chance for France soon.
Doucouré is a curious customer, as his stature as a 27 y/o playing for Watford may not warrant him a French cap. That being said, he has shown great versatility and production this season.

Even in just a friendly, Doucouré deserves a French cap before the end of his career.
Houssem Aouar is in line to become OL's next big-money export. He's given us flashes of Thiago's technical elegance, and displays a clear hunger and desire to reach the top.

Knowing that Pogba and Kanté won't last forever, Deschamps might want to begin grooming him now...
Matteo Guendouzi has been in the news for all the wrong reasons recently. Nevertheless, his talent is undeniable. Once he sorts out his clear attitude issues, he'll regain his claim to being one of the most promising midfielders in Europe, let alone in Clairfontaine.
Nkunku left PSG in search of first-team football, and found a perfect match in Leipzig. His end product and versatility are his biggest strengths, something Deschamps values highly.

He may be eased into the squad, but when his chance comes, Nkunku will shine.
Saint-Maximin is coming into his own in a Newcastle shirt this season. Before his breakout in England, Allan was lighting it up for the French youth sides, showing his class as the best player in several tournaments.

If he keeps doing what he's doing, he won't have to wait long.
Bamba may be living in the shadow of Oshimen, Ikoné, and previously Nico Pépé, but take nothing away from the silky winger.

A quiet assassin, Jonathan Bamba is a great alternative to the likes of Ousmane Dembélé and Kingsley Coman should he get called upon.
Marcus Thuram is well known in France for his last name. Lilian's son has been a revelation for 'Gladbach this season, and should be touted as one for the future.

With a deadly combo of athleticism and technique, the big man should already be on Deschamps' radar.
Odsonne Edouard has come to life at Celtic, making him one of the most sought-after strikers this summer. Similar to Moussa Dembélé, he has the potential to replace the likes of Giroud and Ben Yedder.

Keep an eye out for him on both the club and international front.
Moussa Dembélé is only 24, but is already a bit of a journeyman. Following stints with Fulham and Celtic, he seems to have finally found his feet at Lyon.

Once Giroud's time is up with France, Dembélé could become a viable candidate to serve as his replacement.
The depth among France’s ranks is unbelievable.

If and when Deschamps decides to give some of these players a chance at senior level, his side will be even deadlier than before.
