We’re now back to 80 people in the hospital.
This virus is here and it's spreading. We must act right now to stop it.
What has changed? People are gathering again.
But we know from our contact tracers that people meeting up with friends and family are getting sick too. We can't get complacent.
Here's one example:
They figured they were all healthy, and it would be easy to socially distance.
But after a few days they got complacent, stopped wearing masks, and started hanging out like they normally would.
The roommate got back from the trip and developed a cough. The disaster service worker started wearing a mask and had the roommate do the same.
They got tested. The roommate had COVID. The disaster worker did not.
You need to ask yourself right now: is the gathering you're planning on worth it?
Can you have it outside? Will you REALLY be wearing your mask the whole time? Will you REALLY be keeping your distance?
If you're acting irresponsibly, you are delaying our reopening. You're making it so kids aren't able to go back to school.
If you're going outside without a mask, you are choosing to delay our reopening.
You're putting lives at risk.
We can get this under control if everyone wears masks. We can get this under control if we limit gatherings.
This needs to happen, and it needs to happen right now.
Please, please do your part.
