1) Antes de Tom y Jerry, en el período entre el mudo y el sonoro, existieron Tom and Jerry, dos tipitos graciosos y animados. Creados por el estudio Van Beuren, aparecieron entre 1931 y 1933. Uno de los animadores era Joseph Barbera. Ejemplo
2) Bueno era más o menos. En 1939, Joseph Barbera y William Hannah (desde ahora, Hanna-Barbera) entran a MGM y hacen un corto llamado Puss gets the boot. Sorprendentemente, los nominaron al Oscar. El gato se llamó, solo en ese corto, Jasper.
