Grocery store workers etc are our students and families. You remove the teacher from the family and community they are entrenched in and reduce them to child watchers. Who has truly spoken to a teacher lately. And one who knows what has been discussed related to new policies

Realize that we are here in a snow storm to watch students. Can’t really have class when only a third of them show up. And whether it’s too hot or too cold, parents keep their kids home for their own health reasons.
Then there are the ambulances we call daily to treat kids for illness, sports injuries, panic attacks, etc. Let alone the clinic we have inside the school that treats thousands. This is about a whole lot more than convenience but that’s just me.
