A tale of Carden’s inaccessible #sidewalk travels going from 14th ➡️ @GoodwillIntl Northside. @CityofAtlanta lacks proactive enforcement & accountability. I’ve asked for change and have seen little to no improvements. Developers need to be fined. 1st a detour...🚧

Nothing about the detour in of itself is a problem just what lies ahead. I’m met w @VeoRideMobility in ROW and ripped up sidewalk where the boards are not on grade.

At the corner of 14th and Williams the sidewalk is completely closed. There’s no sidewalk on the opposite side and no accessible safe peds path of travel.

I turn right onto Techwood Dr towards @AtlanticStation and met with overgrowth of grass and shattered lamp posts. This is a bumpy crunchy ride.

Just before I get to the corner of 16th st I can see ahead the sidewalk is blocked but there’s no warning signage in advance. This is too narrow for me. Thankfully there’s a driveway I roll onto and ♿️free wheel in the street. This curve is SUPER dangerous. Like 40-50mph

Even if I did choose to stay on the sidewalk I’m glad I got off when I did Bc it ends in a crumbled nightmare w boards when you turn the corner. This shot is facing Midtown.

So I cross over 16th st and begin up the hill but I can see at the very top there’s orange. I immediately backtrack down and enter the street again. Once again rolling in the street unprotected. Glad I got off when I did Bc the sidewalk is closed w no ♿️ accessible off ramp.

You’re probs asking why didn’t u use the other side’s sidewalk. The grade on that side is significant and is uncomfortable rolling down Bc I feel like I’m falling forward.

I get to the corner of Market st and 17th and here’s the construction madness. Also they blocked the guarded bike lane/ peds path with a gate 😤

I roll all the way to Northside dr and turn right to go to @GoodwillIntl. I ♿️roll in the SUICIDE 🚗 lane Bc the sidewalk abruptly ends and there’s no crosswalk. This is where I felt safest. Y’all this isn’t a joke.

Here’s where the sidewalk ends on Northside and I hop off. Alright that’s my story. 😑I am not proud of this at all. @CityofAtlanta do better

There were 2 good things that came out of this you could say. A cool view of the skyline and Millenium gate museum

Route➡️ 14th to Goodwill on Northside Dr. covers districts 2,3,8,9.

-Improve/build sidewalks
-Require alt accessible pathways at construction
-Fine developers
-Deny full st closure

-Dock scooters Bc they impede ROW for ♿️
-Enforce telephone poles/street lamps are not placed in ROW w/o enough ♿️clearance
-Implement no right turn on red in city Bc peds ☠️. Nearly got run over.
