The ineffective tactics and strategies of Eugene BU are an integral part of the EPD's counterinsurgency strategy to repress dissent in this town. The EPD knows that they can't get rid of protesting altogether, so they hold sort of a tolerance for marches by Eugene BU and then
take the approach of use of force, arrests, trumped up charges, and surveillance for everyone else. This is their way of violently enforcing the line between what constitutes a good protest and a bad protest here in Eugene. Knowing people are hitting the street's, the EPD
would rather they be under the leadership of Eugene BU/others who like to lead people to the freeway on-ramps then tell them to turn around, or who give them chalk to play with than other orgs/people who can act with more intention and effectiveness. This is also not to point
specifically at a group like Eugene BU as being the sole source of negative vibes around here, because liberalism cuts deep through this city, but seeing as they are showing up in Portland and there are a lot of issues coming up around their funding and general grievances being
aired, then it's worth pointing all of this stuff out.

collaborators that they can use to beat back the mob. We dont deal with this problem by remaining silent about it, we loudly call it out and keep it 100. If we are too fearful to speak out because we might get labeled this/that, then we aren't ready for what's to come, full stop.
Its good to see this trend of people airing grievances and working to build something better here in Eugene. We want to extend our solidarity with all of those facing charges over protests here in Eugene and those holding it down at @eughungerstrike, week 5.
