This NBC Amendment bill is a proxy battle in the real war going on at the heart of Nigeria, which is a political conflict between North and South.

The Southern political elite formation wants power through crony capitalism.

The Northern one wants power through state capture.
The Southern elite formation believes in business and free markets as long as they are positioned to benefit the most. I.e, everyone will eat, but they will eat the most.

The Northern one believes in a powerful centralised state under their control that gets to own EVERYTHING.
In the Southern elite vision, there will always be a measure of freedom and democracy, because the market itself is apolitical. There is also some social mobility.

The Northern vision has no such allowances. It wants a tiny vampire elite and a sprawling everlasting underclass.

In 2001, @A_Oshiomhole opposed opening the telecom market to MTN and Econet, saying that it would make telephone access too expensive for Nigerians. He wanted the government to sink more money into NITEL instead.

19 years later, the market as usual, was right.
But Oshiomhole is still a frontline participant in Nigerian public discourse, offering his cringeworthy views and being taken seriously. How is NITEL dead but its no 1 cheerleader's political career is still alive?

Apparently Nigeria still has this great big Communist hangover.
We keep platforming people who literally do not know *anything*. Oshiomhole knows as much about an economy as I know about astrophysics, but he somehow obtained a governorship.

He should have been consigned to history's dustbin since 2003 but here we are.

Before chasing recreational space travel, humanity needs to disrupt childbirth with technology. The current process of human procreation is inefficient and illogical.

Every delivery is a death risk to the mother and procreation happens the worst possible way - impulsively.
Currently, any 14 year-old high schooler and her male classmate can accidentally become parents through an unplanned and impulsive act, which results in significant difficulties for them and for the new life, as well as negative externalities for their environment.
Sex - a recreational act - should not logically be the means by which humanity reproduces itself. The process of reproduction in an environmentally conscious world of the future must be controlled and intentional - the two things sex absolutely is not.
