THREAD: On Sunday, the 2020 elections will be exactly 100 days away. To stop @realDonaldTrump from taking Minnesota and winning a 2nd term, we're trying to raise $100K by the time we're 100 days out. Chip in here to help us fight back and #keepMNblue: secure.actblue.com/donate/100-day…
Here's why we need your support:

You may not have realized it, but Minnesota is a major battleground state this year. In 2016, Trump's campaign only spent $35,000 dollars in MN and lost by 1.5% of the vote.

Now, Trump's making a major push to win MN and we need to be ready. Image
Trump is set to pour as much as $30 million or more into Minnesota this year.

Listen to what @realDonaldTrump’s then-campaign manager had to say on Fox News about their plan for winning Minnesota. This is what we’re up against:
Right now, Trump and his team have already booked $14.1 million worth of ads in Minnesota. That’s one of the biggest political ad buys in MN history.

We’re getting seriously outspent and we cannot allow Trump's lies to drown out the truth. Source: adage.com/article/campai… Image
Trump’s Minnesota ad campaign is massive. It's bigger than his ad buy in Michigan, nearly as big as Pennsylvania, and on par with other battlegrounds.

Remember, he came within 1.5% of winning Minnesota in 2016 after spending $35,000 here. Imagine what $14.1 million will get him. Image
It’s not just TV ads, Trump and Pence talk about Minnesota constantly and have visited our state multiple times for photo ops and campaign events.

In rally after rally, speech after speech, Trump brags about his push to win Minnesota. He’s obsessed! Take a listen:
Trump’s obsessed with Minnesota because if he knows that if he flips our state, his path to a second term is almost guaranteed. As @thehill noted, even if Democrats win back Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, we could lose this election if we lose Minnesota. thehill.com/opinion/campai… Image
A lot of folks are rightly paying close attention to battleground states like Wisconsin and Florida, but sleeping on Minnesota despite the fact that we were the 6th closest state in the 2016 elections.

That has to change if we’re going to beat Trump. Image
Trump flooding MN with money threatens other races up and down the ballot too.

In 2018, we flipped two U.S. House districts from red to blue, but the GOP flipped two as well. We can't let Trump’s flood of money wash away our work to keep control of Congress. Image
We’re also two seats away from taking the GOP-led MN Senate, which has not passed:
- police reform
- gun safety legislation
- a public health care option
& more. We need to counter Trump's assault on MN to ensure it doesn't cost us down the ballot. abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireS…
There's so much on the line in Minnesota. That's why the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party needs your help to defeat Trump and #keepMNblue! Head to secure.actblue.com/donate/100-day… to chip in to our $100K for 100 days campaign today, then RT this thread and help spread the word!
.@PiperPerabo knows how important it is to #keepMNblue this year!

Our best shot to do that is for grassroots supporters to chip in and help our campaign teams working across Minnesota to beat Trump! Donation link is below ⬇️⬇️⬇️
.@IlhanMN is right, we can't let Trump buy Minnesota!

Rep. Omar has been a tireless leader in the fight to build a better and more just future for the people of Minnesota. If we're going to make that happen, we need to #keepMNblue!
As a national leader within the Democratic Party, @donnabrazile knows what we're up against. Take her advice and help #keepMNblue today!
UPDATE: We've raised $19,280 in just one day! Help us stop Trump's hateful campaign in Minnesota and #KeepMNBlue by donating here: secure.actblue.com/donate/100-day… Image
We need your help to get us to our goal of $100K by Sunday to stop Trump in his tracks. We can't allow Minnesota to flip red in 2020 and we certainly cannot allow his dismissive response to COVID-19 to continue. #KeepMNBlue
Trump has continued to fail us, from his dismissal of the threat of COVID-19, his complete negligence and lack of leadership has created a national crisis which could have easily been prevented had action been taken early on.

Take a look at Trump's response to the pandemic:
How does your contribution help?
☑️ Organizing
☑️ Winning up and down the ballot
☑️ Helping is flip the MN Senate blue
☑️ And ultimately, stopping @realDonaldTrump from winning a second term.
As the pandemic maintains its grip on the US, the Trump administration is now suggesting schools should reopen and threatening to cut funding should they not.
abcnews.go.com/Politics/educa…
According to the CDC, schools are among the highest risk environments for spreading COVID-19. The Trump administration continues proving time and time again that they are willing to risk the lives of countless Americans. nytimes.com/2020/07/10/us/…
While at his failed Tulsa rally, @realDonaldTrump suggested that we should slow COVID-19 testing down. While the White House tried to walk the statement back, however, Trump confirmed yet again that the remarks were completely serious.
As a result, the plan to slow down testing went into effect, significantly reducing federal funding of testing sites, many in states that began to surge as they relaxed restrictions and reopened. forbes.com/sites/andrewso…
In addition to reducing funding for testing sites, the Trump administration is taking it even further by trying to block funding for the CDC and contact tracing. Image
With the upstanding leadership of @GovTimWalz and his partnership with the Mayo Clinic and U of M, Minnesota is leading the charge in the COVID-19 response through testing up to 20,000 cases per day. startribune.com/minn-achieves-…
Throughout the pandemic, it has been clear that Trump is unwilling to be held accountable for his apathy toward COVID-19. While Trump refuses to take responsibility, leaders like @GovTimWalz have stood up, ready to answer to the people of Minnesota.
We're on our way to $100K to stop Trump and #KeepMNBlue in 2020! Help us out by giving here: secure.actblue.com/donate/100-day…
In 2020, we need to maintain the Minnesota House and unify the state legislature to better serve Minnesotans across the state by flipping the Minnesota Senate blue. We cannot allow Minnesota Republicans to stand in the way of progress any longer. kstp.com/politics/minne…
We need your help to fight back against Trump’s influence in Minnesota. We do not need another 4 years of divisive, harmful politics and we certainly do not need @LewisForMN representing us in the US Senate. politico.com/story/2019/08/…
.@LewisForMN has consistently made offensive and racist comments over the years. In 2013, he made disgraceful remarks about Trayvon Martin’s murder. minnpost.com/national/2020/…
.@LewisForMN labeled Trayvon Martin as a “thug” during his radio show in 2013 and praised George Zimmerman by calling him a “good samaritan” for taking the life of the 17-year-old. minnpost.com/national/2020/…
.@LewisForMN made even more blatantly racist comments saying that “blacks have an ‘entitlement’ mentality.” The US Senate does not need this type of dangerous rhetoric & this could not be further from the values of Minnesotans. cnn.com/2018/07/20/pol…
We need to stop @LewisForMN from spreading his hateful mentality in 2020 and re-elect @TinaSmithMN. Sen. Smith has continued to uplift Minnesotans since her election in 2018, advocating for childcare, education, & economic development.
UPDATE: We are almost halfway to our goal of $100K! We need your help to stop Trump’s insidious campaign from flipping Minnesota red in 2020. To contribute, click here: secure.actblue.com/donate/100-day…
In 2020, it is imperative that we take back seats in Congress that flipped red in recent years. One of those seats belongs to @RepHagedorn currently, notorious for voting against countless bills that would improve the lives of those he represents.
One of the most recent bills to reach the floor was the George Floyd Policing Act of 2020 (H.R.7120), a comprehensive bill intended to hold law enforcement accountable. It comes as no surprise that @RepHagedorn voted against this bill considering his recent comments.
Recently, he stated that those aligned with the Black Lives Matter movement, are “at war” with “western culture”, a deplorable comment directed at protesters who are simply trying to seek justice. washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/…
In 2018, Hagedorn narrowly won his seat in Congress. We need to flip this seat back to blue in 2020. #KeepMNBlue Image
.@RepHagedorn’s unremitting support of @realDonaldTrump has shown his inability to lead, especially during a public health crisis. dfl.org/media/congress…
Not only has Hagedorn reinforced the Trump administration’s dismissive, inactive response to COVID-19 in his district, but he has also shared conspiracy theories while downplaying the severity of the pandemic. startribune.com/pandemic-is-a-…
Thank you @IronStache! Help us #KeepMNBlue and stop Trump! https://t.co/0NHyvO6Elm
UPDATE: We are only a few days away from the 100 day mark to the November election! We are over halfway to our goal of $100K, but we still need your help keeping Minnesota blue in 2020. Contribute here: secure.actblue.com/donate/100-day…
We're getting so close to reaching our goal of $100K! Help us get there by contributing today: secure.actblue.com/donate/100-day… Image
Your contribution helps us:
☑️ Organize & connect with voters!
☑️ Flip the Minnesota Senate blue
☑️ Counteract @realDonaldTrump’s attacks on our state
With your support, DFL legislators were able to pass the Alec Smith Insulin Affordability Act earlier this year, as well as first steps toward police reform! But, the work isn’t done yet. DFLers are still hoping to pass a comprehensive Bonding bill.
Throughout the legislative session & two special sessions, Republicans in the legislature have continued to block the Local Jobs and Projects plan, while proposing lesser versions of it. strib.mn/3huiJjz
Minnesotans deserve economic opportunity, but Republicans have made it abundantly clear that they would rather short change workers in Greater Minnesota when it comes to creating jobs, improving infrastructure, and so much else.
We need your help keeping Minnesota blue so we can create a more equitable future for everyone across our state! Trump’s divisive campaign has spent over $14 million on advertising in an attempt to flip the state red. Image
.@realDonaldTrump will also blame anyone but himself for the pandemic’s current grip on our country. This week, he tried to push the narrative that protesters seeking justice were to blame. npr.org/2020/07/22/893…
.@PiperPerabo knows Minnesota is a battleground state and we can’t risk flipping red in upcoming elections! https://t.co/77J0pvivLT
.@realDonaldTrump is frantically trying to flip our state red. With $14.1 million in MN TV ads booked, he’s got a major head start on us. The truth is, we can’t match the Trump campaign’s billionaire and big business backers. But we can still fight back.
On Monday, even Ivanka Trump is scheduled to come to Minnesota alongside @PeteStauber, making stops in Duluth and Bloomington.
DFLers are working hard to #KeepMNBlue the best way we know how: organizing! Your dollar goes a long way towards building up our statewide group of grassroots volunteers. Here’s what one volunteer, Aaron, is doing to help keep his district blue:
This weekend is also our Weekend of Action and we’re set on making 100,000 calls to voters across the state! We’re reaching out to voters directly and engaging them the issues that affect their lives. That’s how we can beat Trump. #100Days #TeamJoe Image
Sienna, one of our phone banking volunteers, spoke with a new voter about issues of systemic racism within policing and recruited a new DFL voter! Person by person, conversation by conversation, we can win this election.
🚨 ATTENTION 🚨 We are exactly 100 days away from the November election and we are SO CLOSE to our goal of $100K! Only $6,500 away! Help us #KeepMNBlue today by chipping in: secure.actblue.com/donate/100-day…
With Ivanka Trump visiting Minnesota tomorrow, it is clear how invested @realDonaldTrump is in flipping our state red. We have to fight back and #KeepMNBlue!
minnesota.cbslocal.com/2020/07/25/iva…
We have until midnight tonight to reach $100K! Your contribution helps our grassroots efforts of organizing and connecting with voters across the state. Here’s what volunteer, Sarah, has to say about making a better future for generations to come:
While @realDonaldTrump might be determined to win our state, we are even more driven to put a stop to his hateful campaign. Angela in Cloquet is a volunteer who was motivated to do her part after the results of the last election.
Wow! We are so close to our goal of $100K to #KeepMNBlue 💙 Less than $5K away! Will you help us hit our target goal? secure.actblue.com/donate/100-day… Image
We made it to our goal of $100K! Every dollar counts as we head into the next 99 days while we continue fighting back against the Trump administration.

Thank you to everyone who contributed! We are determined to keep Minnesota blue in 2020 and beyond! Image
We also surpassed another goal this weekend: We made over 140,000 calls connecting with voters! Image

BREAKING: The DFL Party just filed a campaign finance complaint against @JimForMN for illegal coordination with an independent expenditure group.

Here are the highlights ⤵️
dfl.org/press-release/…
An independent, dark money group called Minnesota for Freedom has been running ads lying about AG Ellison's record.

That dark money group is using the exact same person to buy their ads as @JimForMN.

This is *very* illegal. Campaigns cannot coordinate with dark money groups.
Since @JimForMN is just a hedge fund lawyer and has never worked in a courtroom, we'll cite the statute for him.

Here's how Minn. Statute § 10A.01, subd. 18 defines independent expenditure groups and what they're not allowed to do ⤵️

See for yourself: revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/…

BREAKING: this weekend at the @mngop convention, @KimCrockettSOS played a video that portrayed George Soros, a Jewish man, as a puppet master who is secretly controlling Minnesota's elections.

The "Jewish puppet master" is a longstanding and deeply anti-Semitic trope.
The stereotypes @KimCrockettSOS is using to fuel her campaign are centuries old and have caused incredible harm to the Jewish community both here in the United States and across the world.

Crockett owes Minnesota's Jewish community an apology.
vox.com/2018/11/2/1594…
The @ADL has a great explanation of what the "George Soros puppet master" conspiracy theory is and why it's so harmful.

Minnesota Republicans have chosen their most extreme and dangerous candidate to lead their party in the fall. We can’t allow Scott Jensen to become governor. #mngov

Scott Jensen has promised to ban abortion, even for victims of rape and incest.
And for his running mate, he chose…this guy. Image

THREAD: We're demanding @mngop Chair @davidhann root out the dangerous political extremism that's taken over his party.

Time and time again, Minnesota Republicans have cozied up to violent extremists. It has to end. Here's just a few recent examples:
dfl.org/press-release/…
Just yesterday, an MN GOP leader embraced the Oath Keepers, a violent, right-wing militia.

Numerous members of that extremist militia have been arrested and charged for plotting and carrying out the attempted January 6th insurrection.
propublica.org/article/oath-k…
While this story is shocking, the GOP's embrace of the most extreme elements of the far-right is not w/o precedence. Just today it was revealed that State Senator @MarkkoranMN is raising money for men charged in the Jan 6 terrorist attack on the US Capitol minnesotareformer.com/briefs/gop-sta…

It is disgraceful that Representatives @JimHagedornMN, @tomemmer, @FischbachMN7, and @PeteStauber continue trying to block efforts to investigate the assault on the United States Capitol.
dfl.org/press-release/…
It is abundantly clear these Republican Representatives don’t want to know whether the January 6th insurrection was pre-planned and who was involved in that planning because they are scared of the answer.
By voting against holding Steve Bannon in contempt of Congress for refusing a subpoena, these Republican Representatives are abdicating the responsibilities of their office and trying to take the teeth out of Congress’ ability to investigate criminal behavior.
