Dr. Michael Mach, a jew who is the head of Jewish studies at Tel Aviv University is in fact - wait for it - a descendant of Adolf Hitler. His grandfather was Adolf's cousin and carried the surname but Michael converted to Judaism and migrated to Israel.

Hitler's family changed their surname to 'Hiller' after the war to escape the infamy. Hitler's nephew (Brit citizen) had earlier, after failing to capitalise on his surname in Germany migrated to USA and eventually fought in WW2 against Germany as a part of the US Navy!
After the war, William Patrick Hitler changed his last namr to Stuart-Houston and lived out the rest of his life in USA. So Hitler's direct descendants now live in USA guarding their privacy very fiercely!
William Patrick didn't get along with Adolf and had written a letter blackmailing him. Hitler gave in because he feared that William Patrick had discovered evidence of Adolf's Jewish ancestry. However he made life tough for WP who eventually left Germany just before WW2.
William Patrick's 4 sons entered into a pact to never marry or have children to bring an end to the Hitler family name. One of them bear the middle name 'Adolf'.
