1/ How long? BN(O)s can either apply for 30 months + 30 months or 5 years in one go. "More cost effective" to do the latter, Home Office says.

2/ Who can qualify as dependents?
- Not just children under 18, but also children over 18 if their parent(s) hold BN(O).
- Adult dependents also can apply "in exceptional circumstances of high dependency"

3/ Children whose parents don't have BN(O)?
- Sorry, nothing to help them in this policy. Please apply for youth mobility (working holiday) scheme. 1,000 quotas per year

4/ English requirement
- No need to prove English proficiency upon arrival
- But will need to "require a good knowledge of English" when they apply for settled status after 5 years.

5/ What if you don't have a BN(O) passport now?
No need to apply. Airport staff have see your BN(O) status from the computer. Fly to the UK with your HKSAR passport and that's fine.
