The JPMorgan COVID charts of the week are reliably fascinating. Here are 4.

1) Good news: Oxford’s vaccine will be tested in the US (along with Brazil and South Africa).

Bad news: That's because you need huge virus spread to do human challenge trials.
2) Knock wood, but there appears to be a mini-slowdown in the rate of new infections in US hotspot states.

In Texas, Houston, Dallas, and Laredo cases seem to be plateauing. San Antonio not so much.
3) A huge, under-covered story in mainstream press: Cross-reactive immunity.

A high % of blood donors have T-cells that fight COVID immediately, bc they have memory from past exposures to common cold coronaviruses. Would explain some of the variability in symptoms. @Noahpinion
4) JPM's Michael Cembalest: "If I contracted COVID, the first thing I would ask for are anticoagulants (a type of blood thinner) given the track record they have in reducing mortality rates."

This is the sort of thing that explains declining hospital mortality.
re: the first graph, I hurried my copy-paste. From JPM:

"*In the absence of human challenge trials* (i.e., deliberately infecting people with the virus), vaccine developers need to find places where the virus is spreading widely."
