@RichardGrenell 1) As a 1978 Journalism grad, I spent half of my career on the editorial side (newspapers, magazines, books) & the other doing PR in the private, non-profit & public sectors. I was press secretary for Rep. Jim Kolbe (96-99) when the Left sought to punish him over his DOMA vote.
@RichardGrenell 2) Dozens in the House & Senate were targeted for outing. Jim was the only man to call their bluff by acknowledging he was gay. Not that this was a secret to those who knew him. He simply didn't let his orientation define him or his politics. He was always a Goldwater Republican.
@RichardGrenell 3) I thought politics was a nasty business back then, but the atmosphere has become so much more poisonous today & I fault the Depravity Party for that. They have really lost their way. To me, integrity is paramount: My former professions, journalism & PR, are now unrecognizable.
