This season, Luke Shaw's PV whilst at LB has been +17-23 which means his passes increase the chances of us scoring by 17-23%. Brandon Williams and Aaron Wan-Bissaka COMBINE for +5-9 (5-9%). The sheer difference here is incredible. The best FBs in Europe reach +32-35 (32-35%).
The biggest reason for this is that Shaw plays progressively in build-up more than Williams and AWB whilst he is still deficient when compared to Europe's top FBs. Nevertheless, Williams and AWB are characterised with passes which do not find players in progressive situations.
In recent games, though a small sample, Wan-Bissaka brought up negative or really low PV levels. When I watched over the games it's for that reason. He has no level of independence on the right and constantly seeks to pass to someone next to him or behind him.
Williams, on the other hand, is slightly more progressive on the left but has the big issue of turning back onto his right foot which opens himself up to more regressive options which he often uses.
These are just some of my findings which I thought I'd share with you this evening.

I'll be keeping a lookout for anything else.
