The first phase of the partial closure of the #3MB began 12 midnight and is already in effect. As earlier stated, the traffic flow from the Island towards the Mainland will be restricted from 12am to 12pm.

Between 12pm and 1pm, we will be phasing out the traffic movement from the Mainland to the Island in preparation for those coming from the Island towards the Mainland from 1pm.

This is because at the stakeholders' meeting held yesterday, it was decided that since the ongoing repair works will only cover the Adeniji to Adekunle section for now, there was no need to seal off the entire stretch of the bridge to Oworonshoki.

This means only the section between Adeniji and Adekunle is sealed off totally. So from 1pm to 12am, those coming from the Island will be diverted onto the opposing lane up to Adekunle where they will be diverted back into their normal lanes all the way to Oworonshoki.

Another thing to note is that during 1pm to 12am, those coming from the Mainland towards the Island will have access to the #3MB down to Adekunle from where they will be diverted towards EbuteMetta to either use Iddo to CarterBridge or ApapaRd towards Costain to EkoBridge.

This is to reiterate that there is no need to panic. Motorists will have more access to the bridge than earlier anticipated. Let us all cooperate with traffic officials along all routes to ensure that traffic keeps moving.
