You know, one of my biggest concerns is that nobody seems to be actively archiving *current* retro software. Places like itch don't offer old version downloads, you can discover a game and find the only copy available anywhere is already 1.3, and nobody has kept the old versions
and that's if you're lucky enough your game gets noticed. This is made worse by things being put behind '0 price' paywalls, because it further limits the number of people likely to be picking up older versions as things are often not noticed straight away.
I've had other people express this concern to me too, so I'm not alone in worrying about it (and in fact I was alerted to the problem by some people in the Speccy scene expressing grave concerns over the archival of current software) but there doesn't seem a good solution.
