I'll be live-tweeting tonight for the @DailyEmerald at the Federal Courthouse for another night of #EugeneProtests starting at 9 p.m.
@CFrancisOLeary will be joining me shortly
There's a group of about 20 already here — #WallofMoms included.
@januszmalo is here, too
There's a drone above the Whole Foods across the street from the federal courthouse.
A protestor made clear to me that this is "in response to being tear-gassed last night."
A speaker is on the megaphone talking about safety, the federal agents in Portland and being an ally.

They are now saying that "they are looking to get stronghold over another liberal city in Oregon."
"There is no leader. We are here organically to bring our skills, our people together because last night there was an affront on protestors."
"Please make this protest to be whatever you want it to be — because that's what it is."
The group has grown to about 100 people.
There's not a whole lot of action other than chanting.
The group took a step forward as an Eugene Police Officer stopped at the red light and are chanting "quit your job."
The protest is now blocking Mill at 8th.
Most of the blocked traffic has turned around.
The group is marching.
There are protestors within the group criticizing Black Unity and their actions with the city council
Back at the county jail.
The crowd is chanting "free them all" towards the windows.
Protestors are directing lights towards officers on the roof.
Man is being berated for wearing a WWII helmet, a gas mask and a pistol.

Judging by the reaction of the crowd, he might be the only one armed here.
The group has been declared an unlawful assembly.

Talking to @JanuszMalo who saw what happened.

Someone grabbed or knocked the man's phone out of his hand and he pulled his gun on the group.
Lots of noise being made by the protestors
I count three drones.
Unsure what started this confrontation
Marching again.
Some protesters are angry that the group is leaving.
Uhhh
We're headed back towards the jail
Protestors are shaking and banging on the fence.

A bottle was just thrown over.
Observation: without a single unifying group leading this, its all all over the place in terms of what's happening or "planned"
Sparklers present
The crowd sings "na, na, na, na, hey, hey, goodbye" as the officers on the roof retreat.
A protestor is announcing that her phone was stolen by someone in the crowd.
Its been announced to the crowd that law enforcement is mobilizing nearby.
Can confirm ^
The crowd is getting organized.
The crowd is marching.
Cops are out in full force with weapons pointed towards the crowd which is easily 100 yards away.
"You are currently trespassing on private property"

The crowd is actually in the street.

Tear gas and impact weapons being threatened.
It's being announced from within the protest that the cops' light caused a seizure.
The crowd is chanting "40% of cops beat their wives"
The crowd is getting ready to march.
The crowd moved closer to the line of cops and have no been declared an unlawful assembly
The crowd is chanting "we can't hear you" over the unlawful assembly.
Now a protestor is asking the police why they turned the spotlight on and off several times.
The crowd is now asking who the commanding officer on duty is
The crowd is nearly silent as the BU leadership member speaks to an officer.
I heard the officer say "we don't want to use tear-gas" followed by comments and shouts from the crowd
A protestor just came up and said "this is looking bad for us, we need to go"
Those that went to speak have no gone back to the crowd. Shouts and yelling has resumed.
Almost 1 a.m. and I can't say the energy is going down
Protestors have announced to the crowd that proudboys have arrived nearby.
Its being reported by an independent journalist that a truck with multiple men in the back has been seen nearby.
The crowd is marching again
Back at the courthouse
People are leaving using the buddy system as always.
