First of all: cobalt is used in all kinds of processes, from mobile phones to katalyzers for regular cars. So by this logic, people who drive in regular cars have blood on their hands too. Nearly everybody basically.

Surprise! Tesla uses around 3x LESS cobalt per kWh of battery than most other car manufacturers due to using nickel heavy NMC 811 cells.tesla.com/ns_videos/2019…

That's logical: other companies sell to a very diverse crowd but Tesla only makes electric vehicles and that product is under a microscope, both from critics and from customers. E.g. what other car manufacturer has faced pressure to use only vegan leather?caranddriver.com/news/a28005209…

But to direct your anger over 'blood batteries' (at Elon Musk personally no less) shows an utter lack of critical thinking and journalistic professionalism.

@tesla actually uses NMA batteries (nickel manganese ALUMINIUM) for their cars. They contain 3-4x less cobalt than newest NCM batteries (NCM 811) that other manufacturers are moving towards.

it didn't mention 'blood for oil'.
To say that producing batteries is a bloody business without mentioning all the wars that have been fought over the oil is incomplete.

What was wrong with me yesterday? First I wrongly suggest Tesla cars use NCM batteries (that's just for their stationary batteries) and then I spell the acronym wrong. It is NCA (Nickel Cobalt Aluminium) and not NMA. Hopefully the link and picture already corrected my mistake.
