@WhoWouldWin13 Hmmmm this is a tough one. It's almost like the hypothetical irresistible force meeting the immovable object. However, one can figure out a likely victor.....
@WhoWouldWin13 If both see each other at the same time, both die. The Basilisk will turn into stone, while Medusa will just die (though her two gorgon sisters are indestructible, Medusa is mortal). There is no way to know which works faster, the Basilik's lethal glance or Medusa's stone-
@WhoWouldWin13 causing power, but no matter the case, both are fast-acting. Indeed, the Basilisk's glance can not only kill large animals, it can split the biggest boulder in two.

However, a lethal stare isn't the only weapon that the Basilisk is bringing to bear...
@WhoWouldWin13 The Basilisk also has breath so bad that it can kill trees and poison any river that it drinks from. The odor of its sweat can also kill. It could kill birds by spitting its saliva at them, bringing them down from the sky. It could make any region a wasteland just by passing
@WhoWouldWin13 through. Medusa could easily spot such destruction...but wouldn't easily spot the Basilisk causing it. Though later versions of the Basilisk were huge, in the original Greek version, they were only 2 feet long. This leads to an important possibility; that the Basilisk, being so
@WhoWouldWin13 small, would spot Medusa's feet or legs before it spotted her head.

Why is this important?

Because anyone would turn to stone if they specifically looked at her face, not just any part of her body. Thus, it could kill her before it had the chance to look at her face. Indeed,
@WhoWouldWin13 the Basilisk's bad breath, and the stench of its sweat, could likewise kill her. Thus, Medusa is at a serious disadvantage here.

True, in some versions, she turns anyone SHE looks at into stone, but even if that was the case in the battle, she'd still be at a disadvantage.
@WhoWouldWin13 A smaller creature is less likely to be spotted than a big one, and can far more easily hide. Thus, the Basilisk, which is 2 feet long, will most likely spot Medusa before vice versa. Indeed, it will be more likely to hear her coming before vice versa as well; she has snakes for
@WhoWouldWin13 hair, some of which will be hissing, and she'll no doubt be coughing from the Basilisk's stench. Indeed, she may have her hand on her face as she coughed and wave her hands around, not paying attention...until its too late.

Thus, I conclude...
@WhoWouldWin13 BASILISK STARES DOWN MEDUSA!!!!!
@WhoWouldWin13 *as she waved the other hand around*
