(1/7) If your child has a #concussion, do you trust their coach will do the right thing? Are you sure?

This secretly recorded shock video shows @bentoncardinals girls' HS basketball coach threatening a player who reported concussion symptoms to her athletic trainer.

Watch:
(2/7) Coach Kerstyn Bolton threatened her player with the "worst 30 minutes of her life" in practice because the player did the right thing and reported her symptoms.
(3/7) Bolton compared her own THIGH INJURY (!!) to her player's potential brain injury, calls the player selfish for not pushing through, and even praised a teammate who played through a past concussion.

(4/7) @ConcussionLF is outraged by this unethical, dangerous behavior from Bolton, who resigned earlier today. We will continue to work to change the culture through our education programs to protect your children.
(5/7) The consequences of a mismanaged concussion are severe and can even be deadly.

I know too many families who have lost a child due to this dangerous mentality.

Special thanks to @Rowans_Dad, @peterrobinson86, and all the other parents who have shared their pain.
(6/7) We created the #TeamUpSpeakUp speech to change this culture.

We ask ever coach to start the season with a public speech encouraging athletes to speak up for themselves and especially for their teammates if they suspect a concussion.
