Prophet ﷺ was sleeping in his room and Jibrael A. S came and woke him up and led him to white beast named as “Buraq". Prophet ﷺ mounted on buraq &began to fly towards Quds.
@Hadithoftheday Allah says in Qur'an :
"Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing."
(Quran. Al-Israa 17: Verse 1) - This verse is all about that.
@Hadithoftheday The Israa and Miraj refer to, two parts of a miraculous journey that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ took in one night from Makka to Jerusalem and then an ascension to the heavens. Scholars say this journey is believed to have taken place just over a year before Hijrah on the 27th of Rajab.
@Hadithoftheday There were many stops along this incredible journey which started from Masjid Al haram to Masjid Al Aqsa from where Prophet ﷺ ascended to Heaven.
Al-Isra’ wal-Mi’raj took place during a time when the Prophet ﷺ was facing intense hardship and pain.
@Hadithoftheday The Prophet ﷺ had just faced the Year of Sorrow, during which he ﷺ lost his beloved wife Khadijah (Ra), and his uncle Abu Talib, who was his protector and ally
Having gone through so much grief & suffering, he Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was given a truly beautiful and comforting gift
@Hadithoftheday When the Prophet (pbuh) reached al-Masjid al-Aqsa. Waiting inside were all 124,000 Prophets (as). Jibra’eel (as) led the Prophet (saw) to the front, and he (saw) led them all in prayer in this blessed space.
@Hadithoftheday From al- aqsa to heavens : Allah then ascended the Prophet ﷺ from the Masjid aqsa through the skies where he saw many miraculous sights and numerous angels, he also met many of the past Prophets
Welcome,’ they all said to him, ‘O pious Prophet and pious brother!’ -bukhari
@Hadithoftheday It was here that Allah gave this ummah the gift of compulsory Salah.
Finally, the Prophet ﷺ was taken back down to Al-Aqsa and returned to Makkah
The entire journey had taken place in less than a night. & Abu Bakr R. A was the first one to believe in this journey of Prophet ﷺ
