The Government seems to be making policy in a state of constant panic & with little logic.

Focus is almost entirely on new positive tests despite falling NHS 111/online calls, hospitalisations, ICU patents & deaths.
Even that is inconsistent, e.g. Rossendale averaging less than 1 case per day yet still on the NW lockdown list?

The apparent obsession with compulsory masking ignores the experience of Spain, Australia, California etc who have local outbreaks & spikes despite strict mask mandates as well as other countries such as Norway with v. low infections without compulsory masks.
And of course @BorisJohnson continues to pay lip service to the huge economic & social costs of Govt enforced restrictions. No doubt today's announcement will see more businesses ruined and families affected.
There will be lots of ups & downs in cases and local spikes.
The Govt should be moving away from state-sanctioned laws & restrictions & focus instead on providing good quality information, advice & localised testing efforts where needed.
