Having personally faced issues of sudden shift from Malayalam medium to English during 10+2, I was curious how #NEP2020 address it while giving thrust on local language.

That's a JOKE

Nothing like that anywhere in NEP....the word Hindi only appears once in document & doesn't have any relevance.

But there is a thrust on regional languages ...especially classic languages 👍
Certain essential subjects & skills should be learned by all students.

YES.
That's a long list which includes Coding & Computational thinking, Vocational exposure & skills, Constitutional values, Gender sensitisation, Knowledge of India etc.
