We are all spiritual amnesiacs until we meet Jesus.

John 1:12-13 "born of God"
John 3:7 "you must be born again"
1 John 5:4 "for everyone born of God overcomes the world."

You CAN get traumatized in life and forget WHO YOU ARE.

1. When you don’t know who you are, you are:
- a stranger to your own life, and
-- More likely to believe destructive falsehoods.
-- More likely to follow wrong paths.
-- More likely to fall into destructive behavior.
-- More likely to repeat the same mistakes.

Once you are born of God, you must learn to live out of that new IDENTITY.

2. When you LIVE out of your “Born Identity” it affects:
v1. "...believes that Jesus is the Christ..."

- What you BELIEVE

v5. "...believes that Jesus is the Son of God."

-- Jesus is the Christ & Son of God so you TRUST in him and follow him as his disciple.

- Now you have CERTAINTY and security.

When you live out of your "Born Identity" it affects:

WHO you are
- Child of God, loved by God

Now you have clarity and SIGNIFICANCE that is ULTIMATE.

When you live out of your "Born Identity" it affects:
- What you believe
- Who you are
- What you do

-- Love God, love people and obey God’s commands
--- v3 "And his commands ARE NOT BURDENSOME."
--- v4 "...overcomes the world" (the FALLEN SYSTEM)

The Fallen System that believes:
- destructive falsehoods
- follow wrong paths
- fall into destructive behavior
- repeat the same mistakes

When you live out your "Born Identity" it affects:
- What you believe
- Who you are
-- A child of God, LOVED by God
-What you do
-- Love God, love people, and obey God's command

Now you have PURPOSE and victory.

v4 "everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the VICTORY.

When you live out your "Born Identity" it affects:
- What you believe
- Who you are
-- A child of God, LOVED by God, and an OVERCOMER
-What you do
-- Love God, love people, and obey God's command

Now you have PURPOSE and victory.

EVERYTHING STARTS WITH WHAT YOU BELIEVE.

What do you believe?
- About yourself?
- About Jesus?

At your core, what do you believe?

Living out your born identity STARTS with WHAT YOU BELIEVE.

There are great implications.

Our identity STARTS and FINISHES with what God says about us.
