THREAD: Meet Oleksandr “Oleksy” Zinchenko. A deep dive into the story of Arsenal’s imminent signing.
A journey around the world and “one of the top 3 technical players in the city squad”
Oleksandr was born in December 1996 in the Ukrainian city of Radomyshl. At age 8, he joined Karpatiya Radomyshl, a youth club that gave him the stage to lay his career foundation.
In 2010 Zinchenko joined the Shakhtar Donetsk academy. At first, he saw this as a strong move for himself but he struggle to break into the first team and the club exiled him due to contract issues.
A Thread: In the grand scheme of things drawing good teams in cup competitions may be a blessing in disguise.
Mikel Arteta has showcased his desire to win every match in every competition since coming to the club. This is key for instilling a winning mindset in our players.
The truth is this is a project and while we have ambitious goals for the future, the end goal is something that we will be building towards This season helps begin to build that winning mentality.
My point is that this team is worse than the one that won the FA Cup. If Arsenal want to become more competitive in the league this year the business needs to be wrapped up quickly.
We keep talking about all of these incredible signings that we COULD make.. the start of the season for Arsenal has some very difficult fixtures. With quarantine measures we need to get these deals done before we find ourselves where we were last year.
Mini Thread: I believe it is a matter of time before Thomas Partey is an Arsenal player.
Our main midfielders last season included Guendouzi, Xhaka, Ceballos, and Torreira. Of these players listed, Ceballos is with Real Madrid and Arsenal are trying to sell Torreira and Guendouzi.
With these players seemingly on the way out, we must replace them with another midfielder. Thomas Partey and Aouar have been the only midfielders there have been concrete links for.
A THREAD: Edu Gaspar has gone from a recently appointed technical director to the forefront of Mikel Arteta’s rebuild. Get to know a bit about Edu, his perspectives on football, and how his personality may help shape the future of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Edu was a member of the Arsenal Invincibles. He enjoyed a strong playing career playing for Corinthians, Arsenal, and Valencia. Edu was also a part of the Brazil team that won the 03/04 Copa America for Brazil.
