On foreign policy

We get wet when we see Putin riding a horse while we despise America down to the very bloody core. What explains this behavior? Lets delve into Pak's historical relations with these two states.
With USSR

1. Played a pivotal role in Fall of Dhaka
2. Active support of Pakhtunistan bogey and Balochistan's secessionist movements in collusion with Afghan regime
3. Minimal people to people contact
4. Divergent ideological orientations ( Atheism vs Monotheism )
5. Negligible economic relations
6. Direct sponsoring of bomb attacks on Pakistani soil in 70/80s
7. Constantly vetoing resolutions on Kashmir since 48
With USA

1. Provisioning of defense equipment which helped Pakistan in thwarting Indian attack along Int. border in 65
2. Initial support via atoms for peace.
3. Lip service by Nixon admin during 71 conflict in favor of Pakistan
4. Strategic convergence during 80s
5. Pressler amendments
6. Drone attacks.
7. Remittances
8. Diaspora and workforce
9. Billions of dollars of aid
10. Post 9/11 Afghanistan situation
11. Healthy economic relations
12. Sanctions in 90s
13. Ideological convergence during Cold War
So, if we compare and contrast the historical relations, what can be deduced from this? What explains our behavior?
