3/resolution is too little, too late," I urge you to think about this: NCBE is not content to just beat down this small effort by the ABA. They will continue to mount opposition in every state--opposition to #diplomaprivilege, to portability in scores, and to anything that/3
4/threaten the hegemony of today's bar exam--how it is constructed, administered, and scored. Know that when the pandemic is over & the discussion moves to the large, important issue of how we train and assess new lawyers, NCBE will not be on your side. Nor will they be on the/4
5/side of the public, individuals & groups who will need legal representation & access to justice. So, the ABA's resolution may be a small step, but the opposition, if successful, of the NCBE will be a big step backward. As to mobilizing & advocating, I believe strongly/5
6/that my older generation should not lecture young people about how best to organize & how best to protest. (You are doing a good job w/o our counsel!). That said, I urge you to turn outward from this echo chamber of true believers and push, push, push those in power to make/6
7/meaningful change--and, if they won't or can't, then to get out of the way so that those who would change the SQ can get to work. As to NCBE, in particular, look to their board of trustees. Let them know that this is not acceptable. Not tomorrow, not the next day./end
