As a immigration attorney, I am at minute 2:08 on #ImmigrationNation and I am sick and furious. Watching these @Ice agents lie to families so they can rip them apart is infuriating but just business as usual for @ICEgov See below for the list of lies by minute:.

Then JEFF SESSIONs lying - pretending that he "announced" a family separation policy in April, when in fact it started in December of the previous year and was well underway. AFTER court cases suing over family separation, they THEN announced the police to mute the court case.

Jeff Sessions, lying about Family Separation. He "announces" it in April as an alleged deterrence policy. IN FACT it had been in existence since December of the previous year, and they were caught by the ACLU's lawsuit. SO to justify the horror, they "announced" the policy.

The ICE agent says that the guy who gets pulled over also "gets separated" what's the difference. A) they get to see their child again in about 24-48 hours b) that person's child goes to their wife or spouse to be cared for, not to the back of an ICE Van to god knows where.

c) They WILL see their child again when today, many many children are still separated from their parents

d) The drunk driver did not have to wash their child's hair, change their clothes and put them on a bus to go gods know where as my client, Angelica did.

What my client Angelica was told, before she was forcibly separated from her daughter on Mother's Day was: "do you celebrate Mother's Day?" Yes, she said. The CBP officer said, good, Happy Mother's Day. Tomorrow your daughter will be removed from you to go to a shelter.

Being allowed to hug his daughter, not my client's experience. In court, you cannot even hug your family members most of the time. That hug was likely for the cameras only.

My client had a 17 year old son and 9 year old daughter. The 17 year old son watched CBP agents rip the 9 year old away from her mother, physically, all the while screaming and banging on the window, begging them not to hurt his sister.

My client's son was hungry. Father asks the CBP Officer to provide food. NO was the response, "you didn't Come here to get fat." The son was removed from the client's custody shortly thereafter. The last thing the father saw of his son, was his son begging for food.

When Angelica was finally reunited with her daughter, see link below, her daughter blamed her for missing her eighth birthday, which the child had to celebrate alone in a shelter.

Angelica begged he daughter for forgiveness, as if any of it was her fault.

Angelica was only reunited with her child after a) a federal lawsuit was filed by a major Boston law firm @NixonPeabodyLLP , our offices and the @ACLU_Mass b) @joekennedy and @RepKClark personally called government bureaucrats to expedite matters along with @MassAGO's work.

If all that had not happened, @realDonaldTrump 's goons were thinking of processing the reunion sometime in August, more than three months after the separation.
